Am tempted by a tuning box - as long as it's definitely not detectable (once removed) by VW.. Am worried if I get a remap and something goes wrong I will have a huge bill!

Apparently a tuning box should get it to 252hp and 295 ft lb's which is pretty impressive..
Have you seen anything like you've mentioned online? I'll be after an undetectable one if poss.

Going to see mine on Tuesday & if all goes to plan I'll be getting the keys on Thursday.

Mine is in transit, expecting 2/3 weeks before being able to arrange collection. Even gave the garage a clean out today in preparation of the new arrival :D

I've read that the 1 year insurance is still running, but also read that you can't protect your NCD? Is everyone getting the free insurance for a year?

Think I will go for 3 years servicing with maintenance as that seems like reasonable value. Silly question but are the key fobs branded Gti or are they standard VW?

Also on the subject... I've noticed the criteria is for 25 and over 'only' for the GTI... has anybody under 25 managed to get the insurance?? Would be worth knowing as i'm only 21

Nope, not even considered if you're not under 25 - I'm 24.

Jesus, that looks like a hell of a gain. If there is any way of being certain that it's undetectable I'll be after one of those for sure.

Mines due for building w/c today as well, looks like there's a fair few of us.

They do stick to the insurance specifics e.g. over 25. You do get a named driver on their as well by the sounds of it, I'm just debating whether I should add my gf to it or not

Here is all the small print for the free insurance offer - https://insurewithvolkswagen.co.uk/polo/

Out of curiosity, how much is peoples insurance if you're under 25? Mine would be about £400 and I'm 28

I note that NCD cannot be protected on the free insurance offer, so on that basis I don't think I'll be bothering with it. I've got 12 years protected NCD built up so far, so not prepared to give that up! :)

Likewise!! Don't know how long the clutch or gearbox would put up with that power for though!
