So I'm on my second media system after having a replacement. Been playing up again. Of course while the technician sat with me it behaved itself. Typical.

Humbermart it does look very much as if you have got just the adjustable dampers but not the other benefits of the performance kit which should have come with the sport button. I can't find anything which suggests you can have one without the other but sets up could be different for other countries which could explain why the manual suggests this. Either way you haven't got what you paid for so give the dealer some stick! So let us know how you get on.

agreed, I also find that ride is better the faster you're going.People who say it was to jarring was this at low speeds 30mph?

I've enjoyed the sport button as well when I've used it - definitely agree about it being better the faster you're going.

How are you getting on with the box mate, really tested it to the limit yet? :D

Thanks NB. Ironically some might argue I've somehow ended up with the best option....

There seems to be few fans of the fake noise, and most of the media tests I've viewed/read have little praise for the 'artificial weighting of the steering' with the sports button engaged. So maybe this 'lite version' that I've ended up with in actually in the interests of continuous improvement, and VW listening to the feedback. (or was that a pig flying by,lol)

If I was more cynical (or a Dily Mail columnist), I may suggest that VW have just discovered that the operation of the 'sports performance pack' involved the use of some rogue ECU code that was also associated with emissions, thus they have had to quietly withdraw it from the spec sheet!

Just picked mine up - 10 minute drive home and all I can say is wow, compared to my 207gti it drives like its on rails and it's very comfortable. Dealer gave me free mats, tank of fuel and car care kit too so no grumbles! iPhone paired up first time with no issues - happy days!

Yes! It's going to VW next Tuesday to be checked out.

Mine did it for awhile when I first had it. Haven't noticed it lately.

Gonna leave mine then John see if it disappears like yours did. Gotta say I don't get much break dust compared to my fiesta. Think wheel colour inside does a good job of hiding it too

Think ive found the best mode for the car, it shoves the power in about 2500 rpm which is helpful when trying to nip in spaces but late enough not have the wheels spinning madly.Mad with sports mode on too!

still no mechanical issues at all

Nice one, congrats! Quick one though - I thought the GTI came with mats included as standard?
