I thought it was the brakes and after a small ride the left one seems to smell a lot more of brakes than the right one. I wasn't pushing it too hard so I doubt the electronic differential had to work.
I'll ring VW tomorrow, gotta get this sorted. Anyone else has/had a similar issue?

I can here my breaks rubbing at very slow speeds , is this as its just new or the breaks binding ????
I'm not sure, mine aren't new...

Had a lorry come flying at me half way over my side of the road evidently on his phone or something and not concentrating on the road, I hit my horn at them to get them to move over but not before I needed to swerve to avoid hitting him head on. Had no chance of getting any details of his lorry because it all happened so fast. Absolutely livid.
Ah dude that freakin sucks. Hope you can get it sorted

Update from my dealer :)

Car got a transport order raised for yesterday :) they have told me they take no deliveries on the weekend and that it usually takes 5-7 days to arrive but can take up to 14 days :(. He said hopefully early next week but maybe next weekend. Got to pick my reg although there wasn't a great amount of choice.

Sounds like you've been really unlucky.
I'm guessing you won't care now but i think the wiper arm thing is just how modern VW are? I know on my OH's MKIV Golf & his Rocco you had to put the wipers into service position.

The "tiny" boot is well documented, it's due to the battery being in there.

I've read about the small boot a few times on various reviews, I suppose it depends how much research you do before buying a new car.

Yeah boot is smaller as battery in there as engine bigger and to balance weight, I actual told salesman when I pick my car up as he didn't know lol. Wipers, yes have to be put in service position, ignition on an off and one flick down on stalk does it. All in the manual. I have a few small rattles, nothing major but did expect it to be an improvement on the Ford I had in that respect.

I don't know if this is just me but I find that say at 30mph if I floor it, 3rd gear pulls so much better than second, I'd sort of expected 2nd to pull more As its already higher up the Rev range. Other than that I'm well impressed and after 600 miles on averaging 40mpg, pulls in every gear, excellent.

At 30 mph, you would be in the flat part of the torque "curve" (1450-4200 rpm IIRC)in either 3rd or 2nd so the engine would theoretically be supplying the same torque at full throtle in either gear at that speed. However, the multiplying effect of the gearing would mean that in 2nd gear there would be more torque at the front wheels than in 3rd.

I find that the acceleration in 3rd is as much as I'm ever going to need and except for starting an overtaking manouevre from a very low speed, I feel that you get a smoother and safer overtake from using 3rd all the way rather than starting in 2nd and changing up to 3rd part way through the overtake.

I suspect flat out in 2nd there will be some considerable tug from the steering to contend with as well but I haven't tried it.

It's very different from my previous 1800 cc "warm" (non-turbo) small hatchback where the peak torque came in at about 4,600 rpm and you had to use the gearstick a lot more than in the Polo GTI.
