Re: New GTI
This squeaking on the brakes is really starting to annoy me now!
Done about 600 miles, most of which has been on country roads to and from work every day (so plenty of use of the brakes) but still getting the squeak at low speeds! Has anyone who has had this issue gone back to VW? If so what was their action?

Re: New GTI
I don't believe it is, I had a look through the all the settings but couldn't see it. On the drivers door you have the central locking/unlocking buttons, if you press to lock it lights up yellow, but this doesn't happen automatically. Are you saying yours does, and the button is lit to show it?m0rrthal wrote:Isn't it in the car options? Previous cars I've had have done this, but couldn't find anything in the settings.

Few photos. Really like the sports button. Seems to firm up the suspension and really does change the feel of the car. Brakes are unbelievable at low speeds they seem too good. Really happy with the car

Re: New GTI
That light on the driver's door switch panel, if your car is a 5 door, are you sure that that switch that lights up is not the one to inhibit the rear electric windows, you know when "nasty" little people are in the back? Edit:- sorry I've re-read your posting and see that it is the other switches that you are talking about. This auto locking happens invisibly as soon as the car reaches 5KMH - well for anyone lucky enough to have that option in a 6R 6C!duffman wrote:I don't believe it is, I had a look through the all the settings but couldn't see it. Once again this all sounds like it is sales territory specific as the other poster is in Poland! Though I'd expect that the same BCM is fitted to all these current versions of this car, ie it will be a 6R0 version not the earlier version used in the original 6R Polo. Rosstech in USA have not interrogated that BCM yet, so do not offer any coding help labels.

Yup, after the car accelerates past around 5mph there is a click and all the doors lock automatically, also the button lights up.duffman wrote:I don't believe it is, I had a look through the all the settings but couldn't see it. And yes, I have a car built for Poland. But I doubt this feature is region specific.

Re: New GTI
I think that you will find that it is up to the individual countries VW importer to pick and choice what options they want to select from the full range offered by VW, unfortunately for us in UK, VW themselves are the importers and they have chosen to leave out this and other options on the latest version of Polo. Maybe sometime in the future VW UK will get round to asking VW how these extra options can be activated in UK spec cars, I can't see VW dealers being too concerned about these missing options at the moment, selling a few cars will be more on their minds. I think that it all revolves around the latest Polo using the 6R0 BCM, while Ibiza and Fabia use an earlier BCM which did have these options enabled/visible.
Edit:- I seem to remember that when Jeep started selling cars in UK that had "anti car jack" features, we thought they were crazy as we did not need that in UK, perhaps times have changed a bit and a lot of new cars being sold in UK now have these security features, and now we expect them on new cars, VW UK seemed to have missed that - Audis being sold new in UK have these features.

Re: New GTI
Yep must be region specific, thanks for the info RUM4MO.
I don't hear any clicks and the button doesn't light up, shame, its a nice to have. Seems like it should just be standard out of the factory really.
Looking nice j0rd4n500, enjoy!

Re: New GTI
Picked mine up a couple of hours ago. Only driven it home but seems great. Might take it out for another blast in a bit.
