Re: New GTI
What are people estimating for build times from order to delivery date? I've just read that SJL got theirs in 9 weeks! On week 5 currently, still with the factory on the tracker and from the email I got from my dealer the current build week is 201602. Itching for it now.. Only a max of 9 more weeks

I've found that the database is pretty quick to populate although I've not tried to measure it. I wonder what internal storage is used to hold the database. I would have thought it would have been fast - perhaps even RAM backed up by the car battery - so that might not be a limitation. What speed media are you using? My SDXC card is a Sandisk Extreme 533x rated "Up to 80 MB/s Read" and my USB stick is a Sandisk UltraFit USB3.0 rated "Up to 130 MB/s Read".Andy4791 wrote: The database mode seemed really slow to populate the info. To build the database it's not necessary to read the entire contents of every music file, but it is going to be necessary to read the text tags in every file, or if the files aren't tagged then presumably to note the file and directory names. Lots of random reads but SD and USB media are good at that.

Whoever's got a manual, do you guys heel&toe downshift? I find the pedal positioning very hard to do thia easily, only really hard braking. The pedals are quite far apart and not on the same level at all. Is any type of adjustment possible?

They did say Jan/Feb when I ordered so anything earlier is a bonus lol (I am getting impatient now though!)ShaunP wrote:Exact same date I ordered mine! Yeah same as what I was given as an estimate. I don't know if because I loaded mine full of extras it's delayed but don't imagine it will delay an extra 2 months! Does your online tracker have build date confirmed? still in the factory on mine...I know what you mean though, closer it gets the more impatient you become!nats148 wrote:

Be wary of potholes these tyres really dont like them
had my car 8 days and already had to fork out £100 on a new tyre. Hoping theres no damage to the alloy :'(
