Got carbon mirror caps for the car today, so will get them to fit them as soon as the car arrives.

Shark00n, tried heel an toe on downshift but gave up for the same reason. As the car pulls from low down the rev range I just don't change gears so often now.

Re: New GTI
Wonder what differs in build times and if it is solely around the amount of extras. I went for alcantara seats, sports dynamic chassis pack, convenience pack, park pack, sat nav, car app connect and electric climate control... Went a bit overboard now I look back on it lol. Along with standard black paint.nats148 wrote:Aww gutted
I haven't got many options on mine, 3 door manual, black pearl, convenience pack, winter pack and Climatronic.

Hope you're pleased with yours when it comes though! Will have to get some pics up the second you can

Re: New GTI
I think sometimes, it could differ if the Dealer had on in the cue allready. For example, when I went in to order mine, they had a white one in the line that I couldn't spec up as it had gone to far down the production line or the one which I have which was going to be their demonstrator but it had a couple of days before they had to confirm the spec, so fair play they changed the spec of the car for what I wanted and I spec'd it up quite high. So what im trying to say is if they have one in the cue that they can change the spec for you, it should arrive quicker mine only took 8 weeks to come. But if they have to do a fresh order, it might take longer? And also if they are in a franchise, for example Inchcape - i think they can take a build slot from another dealer because they are in the same group. Correct me if im talking bull guys! Car going well though, did my first 200 mile run yesterday down the A470 in Wales and it was brilliant.ShaunP wrote:Wonder what differs in build times and if it is solely around the amount of extras. Re: New GTI
In other news I'm pleased mine is booked in for tomorrow. I've seen it mentioned on another thread as could it be weather temperature related ( though mine is in a garage, protects it a little) but screen froze. All function buttons on the unit failed to work also. Voice activation failed to work. Over the weekend the rear view camera failed at times. And the brakes are as noisy as f..k at times. Sounds like the horn of the QE2 coming into dock.
Then of course all the electrics failed last week.
Bought many new vw's since 1999 and as they get more complicated with tech there seems more to go wrong.

Hope it all gets sorted m8. It does seem they are too clever for their own good now. Mines not got any mayor probs yet. Odd rattle(cracking sound as heater warms it) from A pillar, poor sounding stereo and 29mpg around town even tho I'm driving sensible but didn't buy for economy I know. Oh and brakes sqeak lolJohnPolo wrote:In other news I'm pleased mine is booked in for tomorrow. Yeah it'll eventually get sorted. It's only a car at the end of the day , there are worse things out there as we know.
