6C Blue GT BSR Remap first impressions (see mnain review thread)

So, I bit the bullet and ordered a PPC3 for my car, and have just loaded the map. I am coming from a DTUK box and pedal box.

When programming, the car goes mental, lots of flashing lights and funny clicks, took about 9 mins to flash.

First impressions are... its good. Huge amounts of torque delivered at about 2000 rmp. Feels a lot like my old Golf GTi mk5 when it was stock and far faster than my olf 9n3 Polo GTi. The difference between it and the the tuning box are unreal. Its smooth and has that remap feel you get with Revo or APR.

Im going to drive the car a lot over back roads and motorway this weekend so will do a full review then. Any questions please ask!
p.s. unlike with the DTUK box start stop works perfectly and there is no battery drain

Yeah il keep an eye on that as the torque is a lot higher. However been running remaps on VAG cars for years and never had a clutch give in with stage 1.

My former car, BMW 118d went from 150hp to 183hp with BSR remap. (Dyno tested)

From 62-124mph it went from 33 seconds to 23 seconds. BSR FTW!

Its funny, everyone I have talked to seems to sing BSRs praises. Il do a in depth review when its bedded down. As for the 124mph test, sadly that would lose me my job faster than you would believe!

Interesting thread. I removed my DTUK box a few weeks ago, as I will be selling the Polo soon. Can't really say I've missed it, TBH.

Still have a few questions, though

Is this BSR system a remap, ie no permanent hardware?
Are you offered different settings, like with the DTUK box?
What are the claimed power & torque figures?
Can the engine easily be returned to stock?
Once you've bought their programming unit, can you then buy flash programs for other cars in the future, like Superfin?

Bsr is like the bluefin system.

You Can via the hanheld device, upload the map, and also revert back to standard.

Very easy. ....

Clamied HP is 170+ and a little above 300nm

I'm currently in process of talking with bsr via email. There figures are lowering than dtuk. However dtuk seem to just overfill and over boost to get their figures. The bsr is just a map the same if you went to a tuning company and had it mapped on a rolling road. Bsr tho offer a warranty on the map if any damage ever happens to your engine. As far as I'm aware no one else does that. I'm weighing up wether £500 for 15-17bhp is justified for myself

I'm guessing you have the 105 engine so you won't gain as much, as all vw did was map it from the lower power versions
