New GTI
Re: New GTI
Having done lots of research into petrol types before, the only premium petrol that seems worth it is Shell V Power. Wouldn't bother with BP ultimate personally..

Re: New GTI
I found I returned worse fuel consumption with V power nitro, my completely unscientific test found the cheaper premium unleaded (97 RON) from Petrogras to be the best, having tried shell v power nitro, BP ultimate and standard unleaded. Though the engine is tuned for standard 95 unleaded if you were to go the remap route it'd be interesting to see what happens if you have the car mapped for 97 unleaded.

Re: New GTI
I've got a BlueGT and got my best ever tank out of Esso super unleaded (460 miles). Shell VPower is more for performance than mileage so got what I usually get off of standard unleaded (around 420-430 mark). BP Ultimate only lasted 375 Miles, however I'll admit I did do more town driving and did get stuck in 1 1/2 hour and 2 1/2 hour traffic jams which never usually happens, which didn't help.
Re: New GTI
How many miles do you all get from a full tank ????

Re: RE: Re: New GTI
I warned dealer no to wash it poorly as my neighbour had a golf off them which was shocking prepared. Mine looked good but noticed a few swirls in showroom but decided I'd do myself. Once in full sun the next day I could see a fair few swirls. Removed by polishing with megs m205 on the white hex pad. Topped with Autoglym HD wax. Dealers really need to start putting more care into preparation for sure. The pic is mine just after I detailed it.Barcabod wrote:nats148 wrote:That's what I got told but mines now in transit, ordered on the 17th Oct so you might not have to wait too long.Barcabod wrote:

I've ordered a pearl black(oops) but nothing looks as good as black after 3 hrs of attention
I always find the first 10 minutes after the washing a black car are rewarding haha

Sorry maybe I didnt explain myself properly I only use BP ultimate diesel at the minute on my golf tdi
which is great and the engine always runs smoothly.I have tried shell super diesel but fiNd the engine is more lumpy
I have read that the BP super unleaded petrol is not maybe as good as shell so I will give that a go( shell garage close to me too)

New GTI
Haha this is my thinking too, have a little list like new drying towels gtechniq I1, little bits and bobs cos we have a cupboard full.Barcabod wrote: But if not I will have to spend a few more pounds on detailing gear
I've gone for black pearl too, my Golf and 6N2 Are both silver so I'm looking forward to it
Just about to give the 6N2 a wash before I drop her at her new home.
Trying to think where I saw some (probably in here somewhere) but I preferred the look of the cloth seats when I saw them.Barcabod wrote:Could one of the good people on this forum post a picture of the alcantara seats.

Black is a bugger to keep clean but looks the dogs for a couple of hours after a clean.
The best part for me is when all the gear is cleared away and I stand on the doorstep and get the full effect of the black bling, gets me every time. I find that for just that 1 moment it is worth all the effort(mad I Know)
I am forever spending on detailing kit
I've tried to look on the forum here but cant find a pic of the alcantara seats. The ones on the internet are of all different types of car even though I specifically put in polo gti
The wife didnt like the tartan seats , I didnt dislike them but thought if spec ing car up I would go for the alcantara
