Re: New GTI
For those waiting and wondering when they will receive their cars, I thought that I would post my experience.
GTi 5 door DSG (Apparently 5 door DSGs take longer to build due to demand)
Ordered 25.09.15
Build week 16.11.15 (VW online tracker) but email said 23.11.15
Build in progress 23.11.15 (both tracker and email were the same from this point)
Shipped 26.11.15
Arrival UK 09.12.15
Arrival dealer 11.12.15
Delivery 21.12.15
Notes:
I think that most people have found that the online tracker was more accurate than the emails but for me that was not the case.
The ship was the City of Sunderland. After leaving Santander it sailed south to Portugal before sailing north to Sheerness.
VW via Twitter told me that my car was going to Emden in Germany. I pointed out that the ship’s sailing plan was for Sheerness but they insisted that it was going to Emden. They were wrong because it docked at Sheerness and then lodged a sailing plan for Grimsby. When it arrived my car was offloaded and it continued to Tyne.

Re: New GTI
I was told by the dealer that adding the super duper sports button added around 6 weeks to the build time (at time of me ordering 27/10/15) due to a back log on some parts.

Re: New GTI
He lied to you, Obviously didn't have a factory slot for earlier build date! But the sport button is worth every penny !!!! And second of waiting!!! !!!
Mine was also on the same boat as the chap above told it was due into ended but it sailed straight for sheerness I picked it up yesterday and omg the sport button transforms the car into a beast ! Done 150 miles and no issues what so ever! Touch wood it stays that way
Ordered on 9.10.15
Built on 16.11.15
Arrived at port sheerness 9.12.15
Arrived at dealer on 11.12.15
Picked it up from dealer 16.12.15 (would of been earlier but dealer was off for weekend)

I've not lowered mine yet but it really needs it.
Re: New GTI
Haven't actually bought them yet but they're £122.50.. Not bad but then need alignment done after they're fitted so about £200 all in, luckily I have a friend who will fit them for me..
