Hello All,
On my daughter's car VW Polo (year 2000) 1.0 Engine AUC,
I have intermittent rough idling and rough running when accelerating along with the following 2 DTC codes using Vagcom
16684 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire detected P0300-35-10 - Intermittent
16688 Cylinder 4 P0304-35-10 Misfire Detected - Intermittent
along with an intermittent check Engine light.
So far I have interchanged number 3 and 4 spark plugs defect remains the same,
and interchanged number 3 and 4 ignition leads and again the defect remains the same.
I have also noticed that there is an intermittent sparking noise coming from the DIS Module
which seems to coincide with the rough running.
Am I right in saying that my next job should be to change the DIS Module or is there something else I should
be looking at ???
Rgds.

Check the engine earth straps
It could be the DIS module if this isn't the case

Hi Alexperkins,
I have just cleaned the earths and the defect is still there.
So I will order a DIS module and when I've changed it I'll post the outcome on the site.
Thanks for your advice.
Rgds.

Hi Alexperkins,
I replaced the Dis Module and the defect has gone.
My daughter is delighted, as is her dad !
Many thanks,
Silver
