As I'm sure nearly everyone here has been torn between the GTI or the Fiesta ST. I decided to go for the GTI! A friend of mine has an ST and i know it truly is a fantastic car, I just wanted that something a little different, less common and a more comfortable everyday drive. After selling my beloved 04" Nissan 350z after owning it for two years, which i had plenty of fun in, I wanted something unabused with 0 miles which I can truly call mine! Anyway for those interested here is my spec:

Flash Red / DSG box / Armrest / Airbag deactivation switch / Light&Sight / Convenience / Winter Pack / Aircon&Climate control / Carnet app / Sport Performance Kit / Cruise&Park pack / Carbon effect mirror caps.

I know there is a few options there people would never consider or DSG haters out there but hey... (I got most of them to cure my OCD from blank buttons on the center console  )

Just placed my order this afternoon so I will find out more info next week regarding order times and build slots and all that jazz...

So yes, pleased to meet y'all and look forward to disusing GTI's! Matt..
Another gti in Belfast...cool!!! Where did you order it?

Not quite Belfast, born and bred in Portadown! Ordered it in my local, Edwin Mays of Portadown too. A pleasure to deal with!

Roughly how long from the start of build week did people collect their car?

Picking it up on Wednsday. Could been earlier but the car is down south. So had loads of sleepless nights lol just can't wait. For anyone trying to get immediate delivery just ask ur dealer to check UK ports stock. Wen I ordered mine there were like 6 over different ports available.
The pano roof on the red looks great and compliments the black gloss wheels.
Sure you'll love it. :)

Can I ask what number you use to check the progress of your car online? It's only early days for me but be good to know for few months time?

Is it on the invoice when you order the car as I can only find an order number which is 7 digits long.

Can the tracker experts also advise how long it takes from the order being received by the factory and getting a build week confirmed? Ordered mine a month ago now but only at stage 2 on the tracker.
Thanks

Could anyone with the App Connect option (Apple CarPlay & Android Auto) please tell me what hardware version your headunit is please?
I think you find this out by pressing the Car button, then going to Settings and System Information/Version.
Thanks.

If you haven't got it yet give your dealer a call.

Maybe we could arrange a meet?

Anyone else running with dash cams by the way? Ordered one today Nextbase 101 with a wiring kit so I can run it through fuse box.

Anyone else got any thoughts?

Got an 806 stuck behind the mirror. Works fine and you can't see it from the drivers seat.

Not yet directly wired it. Still running it from cig lighter (although I've hidden the cable)

I'd be up for that - maybe when the weather is a bit warmer :)

I've got the MiVue 518 in mine, got it for Christmas and paid for it to be hardwired at the weekend. I'd not have a clue where to start with something like that
