Got a small collection of bits ready to put on the car once it gets here Have a few bits of fresh new auto finesse to keep the paint fresh
Springs, interior LEDs, wind deflectors, rear wiper delete and hopefully get some new private plates made up next week! also got my forge intercooler which I'm debating putting on to but unsure yet..

Mine skipped build in process and went straight to in transit.

Most of the parts for any changes i'll be making will be here before the car.. just debating if i go down the route of a DTUK chip or Revo remap with various parts like intercooler, milltek exhaust etc...

I have a few parts and products lined up, also I'm looking at getting an APR map middle of the year, heard much better things about them than revo or DTUK
So car went side ways this morning in the snow and ice , and the esp blinked at me .. So it seems to be working , still find it strange that it doesn't cut in when the wheels spin up [emoji848][emoji848]

Sounds like your council are about as good as mine when it comes to gritting
Some advice needed! Those of you who have moved or are moving on from a Fiesta ST I'd be grateful for comparisons. I'm happy overall with my Polo but I'm not sure about the handling and how big the difference is with ST. I'm tempted to have another look at the ST but don't want to bother if there isn't a big difference in handling. I do worry about the firm ride and what this would be like to live with long term. The Polo set up is firm enough for me and there's no tram-lining etc.

I am moving from a Fiesta ST and bough a Polo GTI without testing one (had a go in a 1.2TSI Polo as that's all they had!). Ok you can't compare the ST to a 1.2TSI Polo in performance or round the corners but I hope the GTI gets a bit near to the ST in those areas when I get it later this year.
However I am resigned to the fact the Polo won't be as good to handle as the ST. Yes I still expect it to be fun, but in terms of sheer steering feel I know the ST will be the better car, even though I have yet to try a Polo GTI. Every magazine and internet review I have read (lots!) can't be wrong and I have to say the ST is an excellent car but I just wanted a change.
I wanted 5 doors, a nicer interior with touchscreen, bit more comfort, plus I have also gone for DSG as fancy a change of driving style, so this is why I have jumped ship over to the Polo. If I was in the market though for the best handling hot hatch out there I would still have kept the ST or bought another one. It may have been out a few years but the ST is still the handling benchmark and I can't see that changing yet. It's just a shame the Fiesta isn't getting an interior refresh like the Focus did as it does looks dated. However a new Fiesta is on the cards for 2017 and surely that will bring a new ST at a later date too.

Thanks for that very helpful. The Polo is fun to drive but doesn't always give you feedback when driven hard so you are not always sure whether it will do what you want it to do imo. Did you have any issues with the firm ride or seat comfort on long journeys in the ST? I had a standard Fiesta previously and the dash is dated nor sure I could go back to that!

Yeah I had a feeling the Polo would not have as much feedback but for me I accept that and I wont be taking it to track days or anything, I would buy something more focused like the Fiesta or a Renaultsport if I was going to do that sort of thing with my next car. The standard Polo was not much fun to drive compared to say a standard Fiesta but it is a more classy feeling car and as I am getting the GTI it should be better than the 1.2 SE model!
I personally did not think the ride in the Fiesta was that bad, the Polo probably will be better but I would expect that as it is a more expensive and classy car. The Fiesta is more boy racer in looks and drive but I found it use able each day and I would not say it was uncomfortable on a long journey. I'm 30 years old but maybe someone in their senior years might say the Fiesta is too uncomfortable I test drove a Focus ST which is more comfy than the Fiesta but still I don't think the Fiesta is bad, the seats were very supportive.

Coming round to waiting for the next iteration of the ST although I will be seriously old by then. Swapping now would lose me £s. I don't mind a firm set up but I once had an Audi TT that used to tramline which wasn't great!
