I've just ordered a Polo GTI with quite a few options so feel like a kid again waiting for a build date.
Out of interest (for any current owners) do they come with the following functions automatically or will I have to ask the dealers to enable them? (if they can be)
Auto locking doors at ...mph?
Instrument 'sweep' on start up?
Windows open-close using remote keys?
Any others of use I've missed?
Many thanks in advance.

Auto locking doors at ...mph? -> it seems UK version is missing this, has to be unlocked.
Instrument 'sweep' on start up? -> Yup.
Windows open-close using remote keys? -> Yup, just hold the button.

Fab
I assume the instrument sweep and the auto windows are already enabled? (ie you didn't specifically ask for it?)
Has anyone asked about the auto locking at the dealers or is it simply not a function at all?
Thanks

Auto windows - how? Which button?
The instrument sweep is just standard.
Any other tips and tricks ppl know if that might not be obvious?

Yeah it just mean you have to be careful you don't sit on the key close enough to the car.
As I found a couple of weeks ago when I went to get in my car to find the windows half open but the doors locked

It's not unusual the hear about VW's with that function that hav on their own rooled down the window either while it was raining or the car was in the wash. I (knock on wood) have never experienced it and I have had 4 cars with it now (1 mk3 Golf, 2 Polo 6N2 GTI's and now me 6R BlueGT).Dink wrote:Yeah it just mean you have to be careful you don't sit on the key close enough to the car.

Also it is an easy way for thiefs to get in the car. Just hammer a crewdriver in the lock and twist it till the window rolls down. That way they don't set off the alarm by opening the door. (THAT I have tried I'm affraid. They even rolled up the window again when they were done. So I didn't notice my car had been broken into before I got inside it.

Don't beat yourself up, I asked the VW salesman if that feature existed when I collected my car, he gave me a blank look and said no.
Fortunately I'm old enough to find the handbook worth reading and young enough to stay awake most of the way through!
