vince told me when they placed the car on the rollers for mapping, the hoses were flying off in every direction! jabba sport may have the money to through out cars in notime at all, but their workmanship and attention to detial skills are far from perfect IMO.

yes i could of polished up my 16v.but who wants to see another polished 16v engine bay? the 20vt in a mrk4 polo is a VERY unusual set-up. the six speed box is equally special.

and this is quality job? The hoses are flying of at 270hp? tell them to put some proper clips on and not use elastic bands - most engine hoses (i.e. Cosworth, Nissan, Toyota etc...) aren't beaking a sweat at 270hp!

the 20vT has to be THE most predictable choice of engine you could have picked.

So (from what I can gather from here and other forums) your building a 270hp engine (that cant take that power - cause hoses fall off  ) but you're going to turn the boost down so its running under 200hp. Your not planning on turning a wheel in anger (strip or track), you just want to get your car in a mag. And to do this you've spent over 10 large.

Don't you feel a bit... stupid :?: Most people get featured spending a quarter of what you have. Is other peoples attention really that important to you?

One things for certain - we'll all be talking about it at the polo show - probably not the way you'd like though. :)

no really its just because i dont have anything else to spend my blinkin money on?

i think you right in saying im stupid, or maybe because you had thought about the conversion in the past and went for the easy option with a skoda rs of something?

can't wait to see the car, mate.

yes - it is a lot of money - but I know the guy who had a magazine cover car (3 mag features) which was an orange fto. He spent about 25k on the car (including what the car cost) and sold it for around 10k.

Now THAT is a waste of cash. At least you ain't that bad! Surely the temptation to destroy other cars at the lights is too big tho....

you do confuse me tho - no license?! jees it's gonna be difficult to insure, and even more difficult to watch other people drive it!

yes ive lost my licence.the project actually began straight afterward.the engine mod anyway.

it kept my mind focused and my hands busy i suppose.

as far as racing at the lights, i suppose im a little bit scared of getting back in a car once i can, nevermind in that.i probably will though.its never stopped me before.

the 10k was just the cost of the engine and labour. exterier mods are about the same again  but on the plus side i will never sell this one project, and i may one day be in my arm chair 8) and remember my 'mad project polo' with a smile  i dont think money comes into the equation if its what you want, and if i wanted a track car i would of bought one.

just for the record karl, last year i bought a brand new golf4t which i personally disliked, something to do with the dash i think, gave me the shivers.sold that, bought a golf cab, then a mrk3 golf tdi, and 5 years ago i personally took hold on my dads mr2 golf works.beautiful.

anyway my point is i spent all this money on my polo because i dont want another car, i like the polo.infact i love the polo.ive never driven a car so good in all my life.it sticks to me like glue, that real strong s**t that you cant get apart on your fingers. :(

as far as people talking about me at the shows, in a bad way.im afraid they will be unable to unstick me from my passion
