Blue GT induction kit?

Post by JONNYVELU »

Has anyone came accross any induction kits that are suitable for the Blue GT engine bay setup? Or even if you have got a universal kit and managed to get it positioned well?

Pics would also be ideal if you have any :)

This the same engine as the gti? Look for a group on Facebook called "Polo 6t/6c Owners Club Uk". Lad on there has just developed a kit for his 6r gti and has had it dyno'd with proven results and is now selling them.

The engine is different from the 6R GTI, the layout is different.
I ended up ordering metal tubes from autosiliconehoses.com and measured it up and made one myself!
It wasn't too difficult! I have pictures of it and a screenshot of all the parts I ordered!

I do not know how to post pictures on this though!!

If someone can tell me how to I will post some pics of it all and you can order it yourself! It only came to around £55 or something :)

You cannot compare the 1,4 engine (EA111) from the 6R GTI to the 1,4 engine (EA211) in the BlueGT.
The EA211 engine is brand new because the was som many problems with the EA111 engine.

They share no parts. The EA111 is twincharged (both turbo and supercharger) and timingchain where the EA211 is only turbocharged and has a timingbelt.

For visuel proof. Here is a side view of the two engines side by side.

Hi mate, I have a 6C Blue GT and would also like to fit an induction kit. Would you mind sending me the links to the parts that you ordered?

Thanks,

Dillon

How do you find the induction kit?
Any increase/decrease in fuel consumption? Have you mapped it aswel?

Thanks,
Cian

Sorry for the long reply! I haven't been on here in ages!

I fitted a DTUK box to it not long after and it made a huge difference! It was really just the sound I got it for. You can hear the turbo dump valve with every gear change and adds a bit of tone to the engine! But tbh for any real performance changes with just an intake you would have to get it mapped.

Also if you are thinking of doing this I have recently changed the filter from the one in the picture to a ramair one. Water getting through the grill caused the mushroom filter to start to corrode a little bit and looked awful so went for a filter that was just foam with no metal showing.

Hello all,

Been a while since this one was active, but I have a few questions as I am looking to make my own induction kit too. I would possibly buy the parts off
https://www.autosiliconehoses.com/metal-pipes.html
Would it be the best idea to get a mix of metal and silicone pipe? Also is the small pipe going to the intake pipe from the airbox the PCV hose? If so I assume this will need to be tapped into the side of the new intake pipe too?
Also does anyone with this engine know if this setup alone is enough to uncover a bit of blow-off valve style sound?
Thanks in advance
