Re: New GTI
New to the forum.
I've ordered the Mrs' a new polo GTI, build date of 16th May so hopefully not too long away. Ordered with the following options;
3door
DSG
Pure white
Front armrest
Passenger airbag deactivation
Light & sight pack
Car net app
Parking pack (wanted cruise and only £35 more for the camera)
Sport pack
Service plan
Really wanted convince pack & winter pack so my old would be satisfied but it was already a lot above budget.
Can't wait for it too come now, only thing that gets me is that the DSG car's are down on torque.... Clearly would have been too much of a rival for the golf GTI.

Our cars will hopefully roll down the production line close to each other!

people have found out who have tried to map DSG GTI's that the gearbox doesn't like it.
Re: New GTI
I was under the impression there wasn't much difference in performance between the Polo and Golf GTI 's anyway?Dink wrote:done to protect the gearbox.E30 Sam wrote:

Supposedly... Road tests have shown the manual hitting 0-62 in around half a second quicker from what I remember?Andy4791 wrote:The performance figures exactly the same, its just to protect dsg internals

I had heard this but was hoping it was a sales tactic.
What sort of power can be open up via a remap?

Re: New GTI
Allegedly the sport button increases the torque to the "maximum levels" which is equal to the manual version. I will try and confirm this with the dealer as I've got a DSG waiting for me to pick it upE30 Sam wrote:Can't wait for it too come now, only thing that gets me is that the DSG car's are down on torque.... Love this colour, sort of makes me regret going for the Pearl black now!GeorgeS78 wrote:Haven't posted in a while but have finally picked mine up a week ago, absolutely love it.

Popped down to the dealership on Saturday to take a look at my car completely un-wrapped of the transport protection.
I've gone for the following options:
DSG Gearbox
Pearl black paint
Parabolica wheels
Titan black alcantara and leather seats
Car-Net App-Connect
Convenience pack
Parking pack
"sport" button
Front centre armrest
Looks like the car also comes with the winter pack as well as it has heated seats!

some one else in this thread got the details off vw.gregmkv wrote:

the sport button only widens the torque band and does not increase it.
and i have found out on a RR it does very little

Re: New GTI
Yeah when you get the option seats they come heated, it's a way around getting the winter pack I was told. I do love the colour but the red gti bits stand out nicely on the blackgregmkv wrote:Love this colour, sort of makes me regret going for the Pearl black now!GeorgeS78 wrote:Haven't posted in a while but have finally picked mine up a week ago, absolutely love it. Re: New GTI
Has anyone found that when you speak to VW Live Chat it can be completely hit or miss with the info you get back depending on who you connect to? There is one person that no matter what I'll get naff/generic info back.
