New GTI
Re: New GTI
Hi all
I ordered a Polo GTI about 3 weeks ago and I was wondering how long people are waiting to get a build date ?

Ordered mine 17th March & it was built end of April. Just received a text when I woke up this morning saying it has arrived in the UK! Only problem is I'm going to America on Sunday 22nd, do we reckon I'll have it by then or not?

I got a text this morning saying the same thing.. Mine was dropped off at Grimsby as my retailer is VW Leeds.. which is a little strange as I'm in Berkshire!smithcity wrote:Ordered mine 17th March & it was built end of April. Re: New GTI
Yeah my salesman told me it's maximum 10 days to reach them once it enters the UK. I'm in Northamptonshire and he said it's going to Grimsby too, maybe they all go there?TeddyThePug wrote:I got a text this morning saying the same thing.. The website says 7 days to reach the retailer but I'd hope it doesn't take that long. Once at the retailer they have to prep it etc so I would imagine the 22nd would be quite tight. I'd like mine before the bank holiday as I'm away the following week.
Anyway, dead excited. Handing over my old & slow Polo to the buyer on Friday and cannot wait to upgrade.

Re: New GTI
Can someone repost the photo of the 0-60 times that shows the Polo doing 6.1?

Not seen 6.1 but close enough and way faster than official figures.Scott Bounce wrote:Can someone repost the photo of the 0-60 times that shows the Polo doing 6.1?

Re: New GTI
Just a quicky, want to get my wheels off an clean properly. Wanna use my trolley jack, anybody know the best jacking points, no info in manual other than for the crappy jack that comes with it. Thx
Re: New GTI
There should be little arrows along the black trim on the side skirts indicating where to jack fromAndy4791 wrote:Just a quicky, want to get my wheels off an clean properly. Re: New GTI
Just noticed this marking on the top of the steering wheel

Any idea what it could be? And how to remove?
EDIT - scrap that, Mrs had the idea it was the chalk used on fabrics so I gave it a wipe with a damp cloth and its pretty much unnoticeable. Was reluctant to try anything first incase it damaged the leather.
In other news, I am a day and a half in and have clocked 150 miles. Chuffed with it! It can certainly shift compared to my old MX5, though still taking it easy most of the time, but the power is just so accesible.
