everything tracker wise points to it being at the retailer but they are still telling me it's not there yet.. hoping for a weekend pick up but I'm doubtful

Re: New GTI
VW Dont seem to be clued up on this car tracking thing! My car left the factory on the 28th April, I have had 1 person on VW chat say the car is currently waiting in Germany to be loaded even though its made in Spain, My dealer saying it will be here in May, another person on live chat saying my car was loaded on the ship from Germany last Saturday but then VW live chat again saying that the car is in Germany to be loaded and then finaly another sales guy at my dealer saying the car is in Germany and will be here in 4 weeks. Everyone seems to be giving me differing/ incorrect informationLegoDeano wrote:Still no update on mineeverything tracker wise points to it being at the retailer but they are still telling me it's not there yet.. hoping for a weekend pick up but I'm doubtful
I wonder if anyone else who had build week w/c 25th April has heard anything positive / had any accurate updates on their car?
My ST has been sold now and being picked up next weekend and I don't fancy being car-less for weeks!!

Re: New GTI
I phoned my dealer and the car is at the port awaiting transportation.. they said it can take up to 10 days! I have the reg plate but it is still no good for my foreign travel form as it isn't DVLA registered yet.. I'll chase on Monday if I haven't hear anything by then...

Re: New GTI
Propper s*** but looking at your other post saying that it had been delivered to the dealer now makes me hopefull that i'm only a couple of weeks away now considering mine was built 1 week after yours, would make sense that it would be delivered 1 week later, but i'm sure VW probably don't do logic and it will end up being delivered in 3 weeks or something. Got my fingers and toes crossed I will actually get to see it by the end of the month, even if it is still in wrap!!LegoDeano wrote:Sucks to hearC_Randell_23 wrote:VW Dont seem to be clued up on this car tracking thing! My ST has been sold now and being picked up next weekend and I don't fancy being car-less for weeks!!I know how you feel with the conflicting info! I was told Live Chat rang the dealership and they confirmed it was there (even gave me the name of a guy in the dealership who I'd spoken to before) and they'd call me.. no call and then when I chased up they told me it wasn't there and don't believe them! Madness.
Trying to get some updates this morning as I haven't heard a thing since Friday morning.

Re: New GTI
My OH has a golf GTD arriving shortly. I had a feeling it was on a ship last week so asked VW if they could tell me the name of it so I could go on AIS... it's not on a ship they say.C_Randell_23 wrote:VW Dont seem to be clued up on this car tracking thing! Re: New GTI
So with my tracker still not updated I decide to go on to live chat again, this time mentioning that I was told my car was on the boat and I asked for the name of the boat its on so I didn't get any of the "its in the German port, wait 4 weeks" rubbish.nats148 wrote:My OH has a golf GTD arriving shortly. Finally the woman comes back to me and said the car has arrived in the UK this morning
All I need to do now is find a set of red GTI badges, I know this link has been reccomended but im wary that it will take quite a long time for the stickers to be shipped from the US and for $45 dollars for a sticker there must be a more effective/ cheaper way of doing it/ a UK supplier?

Re: New GTI
Hey guys.
I've recently ordered a GTI and I was wondering on recent estimates btw confirmation and delivery. I've spent a long time researching and pondering before spending another long run trying to find the best price and finally got here. The dealer tells me it shouldn't take 3 months...?

Re: New GTI
Ordered mine Feb 2015, took 7 months lol. I'm sure they are quicker now, don't believe a word the dealer says about lead times
Re: New GTI
The order was supposed to come through about a month ago... After some pressure, I am now waiting for importer's confirmation on a chassis number and a link so I can follow it. Which is why I asked btw confirmation and deliveryAndy4791 wrote:Ordered mine Feb 2015, took 7 months lol. I'm sure they are quicker now, don't believe a word the dealer says about lead times

Re: New GTI
Ours is built & in transit, hopefully here within 4 weeks.
Re: New GTI
After last month's stunt, I'll be waiting for official confirmation. After that, 4 weeks sounds better than 3 months, or 7E30 Sam wrote:Ours is built & in transit, hopefully here within 4 weeks.
