7 months! Ouch, I'd have died a little inside waiting that long! I'm signing the documents for mine today so fingers crossed with that (I don't know why, I always get nervous?!) and then I'll be picking it up on Saturday. That will make it 3 months and 1 day from date of order so I'm pretty pleased with their estimation of 3 months. Although if going on what Live Chat have said, it's been at the dealership since the 9th!

Yup. It does seem like a never ending story to wait another 3 months. If it comes to 7 I guess torture is a nice way to put it.
You'll probably manage to see it today...?

Yes mate fingers crossed. I've been sent a video of it by the sales chap I'm dealing with but looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. Been looking at cars for a good year or longer before I placed the order on this one 3 months ago (had to wait until mine was at a decent finance level to get it paid off).

Fingers crossed yours is nice and quick mate!

Hey folks, great thread. took me a while to read all 256 pages but it was worth it.
Dont suppose i was the only one to have a fist pump when andy eventually received his gti? :D

Now down to business.
Last year i treated my wife to a 13 plate gti which she fell in love with.
I lavished her with everything vw racing produced. Cleaned and cared for her with snow foam and wax and love
Gave her a re map and then it all went wrong.
5 breakdowns in 5 weeks was enough torture for me to go through. if i see another epc light flashing at me i wont be responsible for my actions.
so I have realised If you put lipstick on a pig its still a pig.

today is a good day though, today i found out that my (the wifes) brand spanking new gti is ready to collect on saturday!!!

cant wait.

had to take what the dealer had so no sport button anymore, didnt utilise it on the last one so its no big loss.

spec is.....
Pearly black 3 door(same as the last one)
winter pack
parking pack
folding mirrors

will upload photos when i get the private reg changed over.

two sleeps to go!!

Too bad you didn't get to see it today, but on the bright side it's not there on exhibition for everyone and anyone to mess with.

I got "official" dates today from the dealer. Build date on week 31 plus another 2 for delivery. So over 3 months overall.

Anyone knows if the code to track the car has any meaning, such as build date 2416 and order number 1100?

Yeah glad it's not available for people to play with haha. On a down side, I noticed in the video I couldn't see my arm rest in the middle. Mentioned it a couple of days ago and just had a panicked call saying VW never installed it during the build! We'll see how this one plays out?

I got an update from the dealer.. planning to be transported from the port today, so assuming it'll arrive at dealer Monday with a bit of luck. I asked if I could have it delivered by Friday and they said they hoped so... Would be nice to have it friday or it'll have to be the following Friday as I'm away!

Picked mine up yesterday and I am absolutely delighted with it! Took my GT-owning best mate for a spin last night and he was extremely envious. Honestly couldn't be happier with it!!
