Hello and my car with questions!

Post by Mypoloisaposlow »

So firstly, Hello, I'm new!

I've had my Polo 6R for about a month and a half so far, enjoying it but as with most cars, could always be quicker!

Had the misfortune of a woman slamming on the brakes 2 weeks ago so messed up my front end but already repairing it myself.
Cheaper than insurance as I wanted (and have bought!) the WRC bumper!

I have the 1.6tdi 75bhp version, and looking at not only a couple of cosmetic upgrades but also performance parts too!

I'm very tempted by an Android head unit upgrade over the original cd/ radio unit; has anyone done this already?
If so where did you get it from as eBay seems to be the only place with reasonable prices so far!
And also how hard was it to fit?

Think that will do for now, thanks in advance for the questions!

Hello and welcome to forum! :)

I have done a change of head unit, not Android but similar version. I have bought mine on aliexpress for reasonable price(price of models vary), but it has everything you need(navigation, 2xUSB, Bluetooth, CANBUS connection, radio, DVD player, it can play video, pictures and music from USB,...).

Changing the head unit is fairly simple, but I just don't have the time and I gave to the electrician, who also run the wires to the boot for the amp. You also have to cut one wire to enable turning the unit on and off, depending of the position of the key.

Have a nice day :)

Ah fair enough!
Got slink so I can take a look?
I'm mainly interested in the sat nav and usefulness of the android side of things.
I was curious if it's a simple as plug and play, the same as older single and double din head units used to be.
And hopefully whichever I choose doesn't creat canbus issues, I've read in places that some do, not sure how but apparently they do!
Thanks!
