Pick up a ST3 on Saturday so last day in the Polo tomorrow as taking it in for a service (on service plan so already forked out on that). Will get the Mountune pack fitted by the dealer at some point.

Did take the Polo for a spin on the same bit of country roads as the ST I test drove last week and didn't enjoy the experience as the Polo bounced around a lot compared to the Ford. So unfortunately I don't think I'm going to miss the Polo much. Appreciate all this is subjective and the Polo was fine and fast but not that special for me. I'm now going to hide before I get linched! If anyone wants to know how I get on with the ST in the next few weeks I'm happy to provide an update.

Would you not get dtuk box?

I'm sure there will b no lynching m8 lol. Well all entitled to an opinion. I've sed same about mine mainly due to irritating faults but like I've sed earlier tonight I've had a strange bonding experience with mine this week and actually looked forward to driving it lol. Hope all goes well and do let us know.

Mine's the same. No car I've ever owned has worked to its full performance straight from cold.

I hope in this case it's to do with the map stopping you from completely ragging it until the engine and oil are up to temperature, as this would be really sensible and prevent early wear problems.

I'm getting up to 44mpg on my 12 mile commute to & from work. Think that says more about the people I get stuck behind than the car though lol

I've had 43/44mpg out the gti on the one occasion my wife let me have it. That was over a 60 mile, mainly motorway, journey to/from Manchester at a steady speed. But we didn't buy the car to save fuel haha.

Not been that way, but on longer runs I've had late 40s. OH has a GTD though so that gets used for the long journeys really.

Who can suggest a nice drive, i.e. country roads etc in the north east? Working night shifts in Hartlepool, feeling to go for a drive up some scenic roads one day before a shift to kill some time!

What about a trip to Hartside over Alston way?? That'll blow the cobwebs away and that road is pretty good too

hi all!!

ive been looking at the GTI for some time now and im getting super confused. does the GTI come with the LED DRLs as standard. Lookers website states that it does, VW website says it doesnt unless you get the light and sight pack. anyone know which is accurate.

im presuming its going to be the VW website but unsure

thanks

thanks for the reply. so there isnt any real reason to get the light and sight pack then. did you add any other features to yours?
