Just a thought but is this the most frequently posted topic on this part of the forum?

Hi,

New on here. Back to a polo after 5 years of other VW cars and a godawful Mini Countryman.

I bought the Skoda chrome tips from the eBay link for my Blue GT. On the box it says for 1.2 tsi and 2.0 tdi engines. I can't get them to 'slide' on even with persuasion from a hammer and block of wood. The institutions say to cut the angle to 90 degrees but I still don't think it will fit as the circumference is only mm different and the springs won't compress that much.

I have a 62 plate 2.0 tdi beetle (currently having cosmetic work as other half didn't see a stonking great black c class estate on Monday - oops) Before it was unceremoniously hauled off on the back of a low loader I tried one on that, just offering it up to the exhaust. The fit was much better secure but you wouldn't break the exhaust hammering it on.

Anyone had any luck on a 6c GT with these. I'll keep them and put them on the Beetle if I can't get them on the polo.

Thanks

This is the right one for the Blue GT:
6R0 253 825: From the 6R GTI - fits all Blue GT
You will need to order two of course!

Thanks for the reply. I'll keep my eyes open for some decent priced ones for the GT. No rush really.

These are the chrome tips I put on my Blue GT. Took less than 5 mins to put them on, just use a hammer and a block of wood.
