As for Rain/Light Sensor something weird happening here. Your sensor is an OEM part, but it is not from factory (i mean when your 6R was manufactured).

The coding 02302D should be accepted.

Try the following:
Remove the battery ground wire, wait for 2 min, reconnect.
Try to enter the RLS coding again.

Finally don't forget to do a new autoscan once you Clear all DTCs.

No, it's no problem that you don't have a light switch with auto setting.
The RLS can still operate other things like the background lights of the navigation map, the auto setting for the windscreen wipers and the CH/LH function.

So the fog lights only operate when you pull the switch towards you.
The cornering lights are integrated into the main headlight.

Byte21 Bit7, but it is not a factory option for 6R with bi-xenon headlamps.

I do not know what you and iichel are talking by private. The solution for your Rain/Light Sensor is to update the VCDS program.
You do not need to change the RLS or dismantle the mirror.

we don't have contact outside of the topic, don't worry. i wasn't aware of the vcds but at 16.8.0, i thought i actually coded my rls recently with this version (genuine cable though).
