Lowering springs

Post by M@Turner »

Hi all.

Could any of you recommend some decent springs for my car. 8)

I'm currently rolling on the stock BBS alloys but want to stick some 16's or 17's on my car in Spring next year. I believe this will limit the amount i can lower the car, so your knowledge and suggestions will be much appreciated.

I'm hoping that i can get this done before the polo show at Billing, so quick responses would be great, and also places where i could purchase the springs and get them fitted would be cool too.

Josh used to run some H&R springs I think - they seemed well up to the job

I can't find H&R springs anywhere! So I'm off to Demon Tweeks to order some Eibach springs in the next couple of months. Bit expensive but superb quality! Think they're about £170 +/- £10. :D

Its gotta be done - after all, look at that arch gap on my sig pic!

What do you guys think :?:

P.S cheers for your quick replies.

Are they GTi springs? The GTi sits 30mm lower than the normal Polos anyway :!:

IIRC I think I've read somewhere that the 6n2 GTi is 15mm lower than standard and is fitted with uprated dampers. I haven't driven any other 6n2 apart from my GTi though so can't comment on whether or not the ride is better in mine than in a lower-spec model... should be better though shouldn't it, its a GTi after all 8)

Couple of peeps at work have lower-spec 6n2s, and parked next to one of those there really isn't a noticeable difference in height between the two!

And now I'm on the subject of lowering... can anyone tell me where I can get a decent set of lowering springs for my GTi? I was seriously looking at the aforementioned Eibach springs but read somewhere something about them not lowering the car very much :? :?:

At the end of the day I want my car a little lower, but not "on-the-floor" lower! Just something subtle please!

Any suggestions?

Cheers
