Side mouldings?

I have a silver 2003 Polo 9N (3 Door). Looking to get colour coded side mouldings. (without taking off the black ones and spraying them myself.) Are there any sites online that sell silver strips? I'd much rather buy original ones online than search the scrap yards.

Are you sure that these body coloured side mouldings were ever available pre-painted, I don't think so, I'm guessing that they were only available prepared with a primer and in the assembly plant, painted with colours in batches only for use on new build cars, like the coloured mirror caps, door handles and boot handles.

I did manage to buy a pre-painted silver hatch handle once via ebay, which I'm guessing was just factory build excess stock - though these silver hatch handles do like corrode and shed their paint, as my replacement did very quickly!

Is it difficult to swap the handles? Can they be simply swapped or will the lock have to be taken out first?

Sorry but I can't say anything about the door handles as I bought my wife a Polo 1.4 SE back in 2002 and spec'd it with body coloured side mouldings and handles etc.

Buy a used Haynes book for that car and it will tell you how it is done?
