Fitting a Golf Lower Spoiler

Post by Karl_CLCoupe »

I have just got a Mark3 Golf lower spoiler for my front bumper. Thing is I'm not sure whether I can get a rivet gun or drill into the sides of the spoiler to attach it to my bumper. How have people attached theirs?

This is why I ask. At the sides, the bottom of the spoiler goes further than the top, making it a pain to try and get a drill into the spaces to drill holes for the rivets.

Thanks.

Karl.

i jst took my front bumper off, turned it upside down & while a m8 held it in rough position drilled holes through the bottom of the bumper. Seems to line up pretty well tho! :D

Is it the same one as I've got, the one thats deeper at the front than the sides? If so, any cutting required?

Thanks.

When I was at Polo Show, I saw a G with the exact same spoiler fitted. I had a natter to the guy who owned it, and besides giving me a detailed spec of the motor, he said you need to trim approximately 6 inches off, so 3 inches off each part of the spoiler (its in 2 bits). When I get chance, I'm gonna get it all sorted, and can tell you the exact amount to take off. They do look very good though.
