DSG Bluegt brakes

I've had my bluegt DSG over a year now, and to my mind the brakes have never been sharp. I was wondering if anyone else with a DSG bluegt has the same opinion I had been wondering if to upgrade the discs and pads to EBC green stuff ?? Thanks for your throughs

Don't have a DSG, but the brakes on my BGT are mediocre at best. There's a spongy feel to the pedal and at standstill the brake pedal can be depressed right to the floor; I also have an annoying squeak at certain pedal pressure. Needless to say the dealer says there is nothing wrong!

Anyway, now have a Golf GTi performance on order so not too much longer to go with the Polo

My 2016 R-Line TDi brakes are pretty good, not as good now 15k on, but will still stop the car quickly.
imo, they're sharper than the equivalent age TSi's.

I did drive a 2017 TSi courtesy car with just 20miles on the clock and the smallest movement of the pedal almost catapulted me out the windscreen!

Iv had my 2014 BlueGT since new and never had any problems with the brakes. I'm almost 40k and still on the original pads and discs with no issues. This is not to say I drive like a saint as I certainly don't most of the time haha. Although they are getting changed this time as it it's first major service.

Imagine the BlueGT likely has 288mm front discs....should be more than adequate.

I have a GTI with 310mm (expect they are actually 312's but listed as 310's everywhere) fronts and they are obscenely good but unsure what other changes are under the bonnet (may have a different servo system for example).

You might find that better pads make a difference, probably the best place to start. Ive had Black Diamond Predators on a car before and was quite impressed with those.

Correct, BGT has 288mm front discs. Maybe not the most positive of feels, but the brakes in the Wife's 2016 BGT certainly work well enough and are more than capable of hauling the car to a standstill from big speeds quickly.
