Re: Fog light retrofit

Looking at retrofitting fogs to my late 64 plate 6C SE.

The FOG/DLR assembly looks (from the outside) like it has a hole already for a bulb. I assume the holder is missing but the unit is the same?

Then I assume the BCM wiring kit and new switch are all that's needed?

Probably not. You'll need new fog lights too.

Item 5 is a fog light bulb.

You currently have a 3, you'll need a 1, which includes a 4 and a 6.

Don't forget a new light switch and some wiring from your BCM to the fog lights. And you'll need to do some coding in your BCM as well, to activate the function.

Thanks.

I have vcds so it's just following the coding earlier in the thread. Assuming I have the right BCM.

Hi there, just wanted to find out if these connectors to the BCM numbers 3&40 are 1.5mm or 0.5mm ??

Thank you very much.

just for info....
I have the white/black wire already as i have rear fog installed.
i also have fog lamps that i retrofitted but pulled signal from PARK lamps with a 12v RELAY.

So i need to join the 2 wires from the BCM pin3 $ pin40 to the current wiring harness positive (+ve) of the lamps and bypass the relay. will let you know how it goes

Guys, just an update.

I would like to thank you all and especially @chisyelamos1 + @Jussu + @ciclo
Combining all the information on this forum and a bit of VCDS knowledge i managed to tap into the BCM (pin 3 & 40) and run the wires.
After coding it on VCDS and it works fine on my car (2015 POLO 1.2TSi Trendline with aftermarket 10pin rotary switch + autolight sensor).

You guys are most helpful.
Mods to follow will be getting the cornering lights to work as well but that will be after my wiring harness gets delivered :D
