POLO GTI 6R Seats

Post by polostu »

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a 2010 plate gti at the weekend with the standard tartan seats. My drive back was 460 miles and for me the seats were very uncomfortable due to the side bolsters, which believe it or not slightly bruise my hips/side of legs. I owned a premier ep3 type r two summers ago and actually got rid of it because the recaros side bolsters did exacly the same and I used to put a cushion in the middle to raise me up.

I am 6ft tall 12 stone, with only a 34 inch waist, but guess I have supersensitive nerves where the hips/legs touch the bolsters.

So my question is... has anyone had a similar experience? I currently have a cushion from my suite in place but it’s far from ideal. Has anyone experienced the alcantara seats on the age of Polo, I have heard they are less firm and raised. And finally, can anyone suggest a solution as I LOVE the car. Memory foam, custom shapped to the seat?

Thanks

I find they don't hold me in the seat when driving spirited no bruising at all . I agree they are not the most comfortable over long journeys but so far after 18 months of owning no lasting effects

Can you get Recaro seats for that car, suitably trimmed/retrimmed to match the rear seats? Or, do the Recaros, if there is a suitable seat for that car, have an extending front section, my Audi S4 has that and sometimes I use that on a long journey though it seems that I am just almost the correct leg length to benefit from it, so not perfect.

I thought initially that your problem was that you were too wide, sorry, I can see that clearly you are not!
