Seen a couple of the German guys doing this mod and was wandering if the parts are available in the UK or if anyone knows how to do it.
I've linked a video below demonstrating the mod, also if anyone wants to do a bit of research themselves here's a German translation 'automatic achterklep vw polo' search that and you should see various videos of the auto boot open.

Automatic Boot open
Re: Automatic Boot open
pretty cool mod, but seems like could do a bit of damage if hit by accident in the wrong place
Re: Automatic Boot open
Oh dear I never even considered that
I still think its worth it for the sake of being extra careful with that button

Re: Automatic Boot open
if you could set the opening height like on some of the modern bmws etc it would be the ticket

I did and removed, total failure.
Works good, however needs to do too much force to close the tailgate.

Plus it has a tendence to fail in the winter or cold weather.ciclo wrote:http://www.polo9n.info/Wissen/anleitung ... heckklappe

Sorry to bring up this old post. I been contemplating adding this to my Polo, closing the boot with much force notwithstanding!!
Would highly appreciate if you could confirm if these parts would be sufficient to achieve this:
- 2 Gas damper for tailgate from Seat Toledo 1: Part# 1L0 827 550 or 1L0 827 550A
- 2 springy buffers from the Scirocco: Part# 1K8 827 761 D
These taken from the link you shared in your post.
After changing buffers alone, not sure if the force of the stock tailgate gas dampers would be enough to push it all the way up. I would be either getting OEM gas struts from Seat Toledo 1 or would source these from sgs-engineering.com with these specifications: 530nm pressure, 515mm length, 220mm cartridge
Will I be requiring any other parts like Ball pins(1J6 827 439 A) to achieve this? or stock pins would be enough
I will highly appreciate your reply, will be very thank full.
Thanks for your time
PS: My Polo is same as graaja's, Polo GT TSI 6R (2015 make)

Re: Automatic Boot open
No just the puffers and gas springs. It's not perfect, and will make the closing of the boot more difficult too.
