Hi
Not sure how to describe this one...
Got a '65 plate GTI, done about 18k, just been in for its 2yr service.
The steering feels a bit funny, it feels like it sticks sometimes and needs an extra nudge to move it.
Best example is if I'm on a motorway and there's a slight curve, I'll turn the wheel a bit to the side, then when I come to straighten up it's like it's stuck in place instead of being 100% smooth. It still will move but just needs a bit of extra effort sometimes
Does this sound like anything others have noticed? Any suggestions?

Re: 6c GTI - steering sticking
The steering should be self-centering because the steering geometry is set up that way. Does the steering centre itself if you take your hands off the wheel? If not then you may have hit a pothole or speed bump that has misaligned the steering. My first step would be to get a free wheel alignment check.

Yes, mine does this too, although only at low speeds. Very hard to describe as you say. Mine is also a 65 plate with 22K.
