I am getting a gentle knock from the drivers front when at low speeds and going over bumps in the roads.
Can’t hear it at higher speeds and can go over bumps like speed bumps and can’t hear it.
Any suggestions or advice before I can get time to take the wheel off
Thanks
Andrew

Is it louder when cornering?

Re: Gentle knocking noise from front offside
Hi Alex
No, it seems to be in a straight line and when driving slowly say up to 20mph. Other than that, it’s fine and I don’t get any other noises
Thanks for replying
Cheers

Could be the console bushes, or wear in the droplinks then

Re: Gentle knocking noise from front offside
My tip for checking the front console bushes is:- park the car on level ground steering straight ahead, handbrake on and out of gear, now grab each front wheel in turn, and try to rotate it fore<>aft - if the wheel "walks back and forwards and makes maybe some rubbery noises, then the console bushes are not good.
The ARB bushes could be worn but you would need to reach down under the bonnet, I seem to remember and try to lift up<>push down the ARB from where you can reach it.
Drop links, I think the quickest way is to either remove them and see if the noise goes, or just replace with new ones Meyle HD versions seem to please some people, I always just stuck with VW ones.

Re: Gentle knocking noise from front offside
Hi All
Managed to find time to track the noise and it turned out to be a bad drop link which fortunately was a cheap and quick fix
Thanks for everyone's advice and help
Much appreciated
