Hello,
Having swapped my interior over the seatbelt warning light stays on even when no one is in the passenger seat forcing me to plug the seatbelt in to save my ears. How do I fix this?

Could be a faulty sensor somewhere around the seat, could swap the two front seats but would require moving the seat belt mount. Also do you have something sitting on the seat? Like 5kg of weight

If the warning stays on when there's no passenger, it could also be that your seatbelt sensor is not working anymore right ?

i'd put my money on the detection mat in the passenger seat.

What are the repercussions of coding the warning light off? I took the seatbelts from my old interior and they worked there so must be the seats

I'd be pretty unhappy myself to see someone sacrifice a mandatory safety measure as an improvised solution to avoid a relatively cheap repair of the airbag system.
Replace the occupation detection mat to restore the full working of the seatbelt/airbag system as intended.
