OK had a little weather window today so I fitted the new oil separator and pipe, bit of a burger of a job from the top LOL - good job I have a wee bright torch and some mirrors - however I managed to lean on the coolant pipe which routes via the back of the intake manifold and broke the 2 plastic pipe clips which formerly attached the pipe to the back face of the inlet manifold - damned if I can find a part number in etka LOL and cannot see anything stamped on the clips.
Any Idea of the part number Alex ? sorry about the poor quality pics - my phone usually does better than that !

Re: 9n 1.4 16v AUB EGR delete ?
Can you do me a favour and post a pic of the top of the engine pointing to the pipe they click into?
Re: 9n 1.4 16v AUB EGR delete ?
Hi Alex
Too dark to get decent pic but have found one on the net...
Looking down on top of the engine - the two clips are arrowed (clipped to rear of inlet manifold) on the pic below...
The pipe is No 4 on the parts manual pic below...
thanks baz

I think they are part of the intake manifold and deemed non replaceable

You might have to modify something instead or try fix whats left of the clips you have
The later BBZ engine has them moulded into the inlet manifold as they are made entirely of plastic.

Thanks Alex - wouldnt surprise me LOL
They are only push in - like a plastic pop rivet and where the central plastic 'mandrel' is an interference fit in the 'grommet' part of the fastener. Not sure what the official name is for that type of fastener but you know the one where you push the grommet into the mounting hole and then tap the centre mandrel in which swells the grommet and thus retains it in the hole.
Oh well if no part number comes to light I am sure I can bodge something - I have both clips sitting safely in the kitchen.
thanks and rgds baz

I do know what you mean. Its called a push pin rivet
Are the clips intact apart from the mounting rivet?

Re: 9n 1.4 16v AUB EGR delete ?
Unfortunately not - the pin 'grommet' is integral with the clip body so all I have left that is usable is the main body of the clip but I can probably either bolt or cable tie the damn things on to the manifold LOL.

I see. Could you drill it out to support a pin rivet like that?
Cable tie would probably be sufficient to be honest. The intake doesnt get very hot.

I will see what I have in stock in the shed LOL,I will maybe just oversize the hole a little and use a bolt or if that looks unfeasible then a cable tie it will be
Many thanks as always for your kind help.

Re: 9n 1.4 16v AUB EGR delete ?
Another nice sunny albeit cold day so thought I would finish off the jobs this arvo.
Opened up the existing clip holes to approx 4 mm and cleaned up both faces with a file, attached to manifold with bolts/nuts and threadlock, fitted new oil separator pipe.
I had ordered a set of 10 x small bottle/pipe cleaning brushes which fortunately arrived this morning and used one of the smaller ones to finish off cleaning out the EGR pipe as far as possible, throttle body refitted.
Battery connected and hey presto she starts and runs
Since the pipe clip bolts/nuts were not 'in safety' (ie nut flush with end of bolt shank) I also put a blob of paint on the bolt tails which hopefully will prevent vibration loosening off the nuts LOL.
