my driers side rear is on its way out! gutted! has anyone else had this?

When i was looking for a GTi i test drove 1 which had the drivers side rear bearing on it's way out. It was so noisy i kept thinking the car had a flat tyre.

Nope, not experienced this on mine, touch wood it won't go any time soon, hopefully it won't cost you too much to fix.

about £25 :( if you run with the bearing like this will it damage any other parts?

well if it overheats too much then it might 'weld' itself together and make it very difficult to get off,

and you dont want it to fail and lock the back wheel while you're driving either!

i don't think it will weld itself unless it gets to about 1000 degrees!!!! mabey more :?

ive seen it, and its not funny at all doing 60 mph when it happens!
