Ecotek Valve

Managed to fit an ecotek valve the weekend,
It looks schweet, makes the idle smoother and gives me some extra badda-bing when I press that go faster pedal.

Just gotta test if it makes it more fuel efficient.

mmm. The noise is kinda flatulant, but is dulled to a small trouser rumble with the aid of the piper cross filter.

I'll run it this week and let you all know how much fuel I've saved.

Yeah, you learn to slowly hate the noise. I mean, at first, it isn't that bad, then after a while, it truley pisses you off.

I might consider getting a filter for it soon.

So, does everyone who has one agree that they make a difference? Not that it matters terribly to me, I believe they're run off the brake servo? If so that counts me out But I'd be interested to know, there was a bit of a question mark over whether they could actually improve performance at all...

It has definatly put a bit more poke into the ol' 1272 and the go-go juice meter seems to be falling a little slower too. So I'm happy.

They do various conversions for people without brake servo lines, I've seen the one for the mini and a converter fits under the SU Carb with the ecotek attached to that, go look at their website.

I think I'm sold on one then. Just got to see where I can get one from locally, before I venture onto the www to find a stockist. It also means if I can find one locally, I don't need my step dads card to pay, as no one but no one likes electron.

otherwise it might all be in your head

never underestimate the power of subjectivity and a wallet lighter of sixty nicker to cloud your judgement....!

like if you were to do a motorway run somewhere 50 miles away and back at a constant speed without it, find out what your raw mpg is for that.... then measure it again next time you have to do that journey with the ecotek installed...

i got one on my engine i aint got a servo just block the end

look at the intake manifold and theres a pipe coming off it with a rivit in it to block it remove the manifold and drill out the rivit get a rubber pipe on to it fit the valve put another rubber pipe on the other end and block it up with a bolt or somthing solid saved me loads of fuel

well I'm getting another 1mpg with it over this week.
But I have been flooring it everywhere with the new accelleration boost.

Definatly has more power Tahrey, there is a hill on the way home that I can get up 5mph quicker with it.

Well i can't argue with that last point, if you can prove it (sign me up for one)

sorry to say though, unless you drive very consistently on a regular route, in unvarying traffic conditions, 1mpg dont mean nothin'

thats the diff between cruising at 48 and 46mph more or less...
