Fuse overview VW Polo 6R and 6C
Since it appears to be a bit difficult to find the fuse overview for both the Polo 6R and the 6C, I'm positing it here as a sticky.
This way, it's hopefully a bit easier to find. Print it, keep it in your car, and it might save you from an emergency one day.
Remember, fuse positions sometimes depend on the month and year of manufacture and your equipment (engine, start/stop, other installations).
Always read the notes in case of doubt.

Polo 6C (2014-2018): click here
Tip 1:
Open it with your favourite PDF reader and use CTRL+F or CMD+F to find a fuse.
Tip 2:
I would recommend to always respect the specified fuse value and don't replace it with a heavier fuse.
This is because the primary function of a fuse is to protect wiring. Large current can cause overheating, melting of insulation and shorts.
A fuse is designed to melt before your wiring melts.
Tip 3:
If you fit any new device or module, use the fuse box for power. Always. No exception.
This way you have a protected installation and it's easy to access.
Never connect anything directly to the light switch or battery, since these are not fused.
Tip 3b:
Note the fuse positions of retrofits. It helps you finding blown fuses of new equipment quickly. This is for example my log of the fuse box: click
I'm sorry I don't have an empty standard one... This is because there is no standard layout, every car has a different factory fuse configuration due to the many possibilities (standard basic equipment, engine, option list, date of manufacture)
Tip 4:
When retrofitting, you can use the small fuse slots but they have a secondary locking mechanism. The pink tabs pull out to the side.
If you want to put in a fuse, unlock them. If you put back the fuse box, always remember to lock the tabs.
Tip 5:
There are some empty slots in the fuse box. If you do an OEM retrofit (i.e. PDC) it's probably handy to use the OEM fuse location.
For the 6R, this is the layout of the fuse box (thanks to ciclo):

Thanks for the fuse layout however I cannot find one for the DAB aerial amplifier. My radio works on fm but not on DAB, just noise and the dash shows an aerial symbol.
For about 3 months the TPK music display has asked for the system to be updated but the DAB only stopped working after a garage visit to fit a cam sensor.
Any ideas please.

Hey,
Just wanted to know if the Laser 3932 tool allows you to remove the crimps for the fuse connectors as well? I was struggling to remove #16 when I did my PDC retrofit recently. Ended up damaging the original wire going to the 4K module.
Also does anyone know where to source crimps for the various Fuse holders sizes?
Pranay

Hi guys,
I'm going to install a dashcam in my 6R
Unfortunately It doesn't have cigarette lighter accessory, only hard-wire cables in the box
The question is:
Where I should connect the VCC and ACC cables?
Your help is really highly appreciated!

Re: Fuse overview VW Polo 6R and 6C
Hi all, new to the forum
My wife’s 2015 polo has been having problems with the tailgate lock. I assumed it was the actuator as it became unreliable and then finally gave up the ghost. Have replaced the lock, but completely dead now. I assume there is a fuse, but cannot find it recorded on the overview.
Anyone able to help?

Re: Fuse overview VW Polo 6R and 6C
Hi. Please can you help me fix my daughters car. 1st time on here so apologise if I post in the wrong place.
My daughters polo 6R 2010 has 3 electrical faults which all appeared at the same time whilst a friend was fitting some lights.
Electric windows not working (stuck open and it keep raining)
Indicators not working (but hazard warning do work)
Windscreen wiper not working.
Do these have the same fuse or relay. Cant find any of them on the fuse diagram.

Re: Fuse overview VW Polo 6R and 6C
Does the ignition switch on?
I cannot think of a single fuse to cause this, perhaps the BCM is broken.
But I'd suggest to first check all the fuses below the steering one by one with a multimeter or, if there is not a multimeter, with a flash llight.

I re-checked every fuse and found fuse F11 had blown. Replaced it and now wipers, indicators and electric windows work. VERY HAPPY!!

Re: Fuse overview VW Polo 6R and 6C
Hi- In my experience DAB radio faults are normally caused by the roof aerial base - a previous Polo has the same fault with the line through the DAB aerial Sign and replacing the roof aerial fixed it . Hope this helpstimbosss wrote: ↑Mon Feb 11, 2019 12:37 pm Thanks for the fuse layout however I cannot find one for the DAB aerial amplifier.
