Changing the crankshaft position sensor on a 1.4TDi

Hi all,

Has anybody had to change this part? Mine needs changing, I have a Haynes manual that says it's just a case of removing the retaining bolt and pulling it out, however it looks as though the oil filter housing is in the way. So has anybody here done it and knows it is as simple as the book says? VW quoted £350 to change it and I really don't want to pay that much
