I believe the only options are on and off. I’ll see if they can adjust the sensitivity at the next service.

The emergency braking, tied to the ACC sensor can be adjusted for lateness of response by adjusting the gap it will aim to maintain when in cruise mode. Of course this means that if you select the smallest gap, the response will be severe when an event is triggered as the car bangs on the brakes harder to increase that gap when it shortens.

I can't see how I can do that, there is no obvious option in the dashboard controls.

If you have ACC (standard on GTI+) then the middle button on the left side cluster of buttons on the steering wheel looks like a box with 2 angled lines (supposed to look like a car on the motorway), if they haven't changed the design of the multifunction steering wheel as it is on the Golf. Press that button while on the move and a graphic of a car on a motorway appears between the dash dials. It has about 5 positions it cycles through. The setting with the smallest gap between the horizontal lines for the car is the short setting, giving yiu the srrongest reaction, but least likely to false alarm.
