Re: New GTI + delivery
Well Barry it’s underway so let’s hope our cars are onboard, I believe it can hold between 6,000 and 8,500 cars so there’s a chance.

You sure it's that many, I've seen one of those carriers and there are freaking huge, but wouldn't have thought one could carry that number of cars. Either way hope they are all PolosCadwest wrote: Sat Jun 16, 2018 1:02 pm Well Barry it’s underway so let’s hope our cars are onboard, I believe it can hold between 6,000 and 8,500 cars so there’s a chance.

According to a write up of similar vehicle carrier built about the same time and tonnage, apparently they have thirteen decks, I’ve got to say I was surprised about the amount of vehicles.stevereeves wrote: Sat Jun 16, 2018 3:28 pmYou sure it's that many, I've seen one of those carriers and there are freaking huge, but wouldn't have thought one could carry that number of cars. Re: New GTI + delivery
Afternoon all. I’ll be placing my order this coming week after a bit of time thinking over what options I want for sure. Drove a pretty bog standard GTI today and it felt superb. Some of the plastic quality is something left to be desired however overall great little car.
Going for a GTI+ in Reef Blue with most of the option boxes ticked apart from park assist and voice activation (absolutely nothing works for us Scots!). Still undecided about the pan roof.
Coming from a Mk7 Fiesta ST which is a pretty hard car to beat in my honest opinion but the Polo certainly is a lot of fun with a touch of maturity.

PilotRoss91, Ha Ha!
Sadly, it looks like you have just lost the right to claim to have "the largest disco ball" either in the world or in Europe (O2)

And it’s a relatively quick vessel too. The ship mines on is averaging less than 15 knotsCadwest wrote: Sat Jun 16, 2018 11:59 amGreen Ridge is getting ready to leave port and is heading for Spain and should be there by 02/07 so good news.barrywi wrote: Fri Jun 15, 2018 11:57 pm Green Ridge, a car transporter is parked in Port Elizabeth ...does anyone know where it is heading next? Re: New GTI + delivery
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my new GTI+, but there does seem to be more cheap plastic used in the new model. But this is me being very picky. I can't complain, what it lacks in 'better' plastics it gains in tech, extras and overall quality. Plus I bought it to drive it and it does that VERY well and it's only early days yet. It will certainly be worth the wait!PilotRoss91 wrote: Sat Jun 16, 2018 3:50 pm Afternoon all. Green Ridge is only doing 16.5 mph at the moment so not that fast yetroywolfey wrote: Sat Jun 16, 2018 7:09 pmAnd it’s a relatively quick vessel too. Re: New GTI + delivery
It depends on which ship it is on.
The VW uk chat line just told me that they cannot say where my car is untill it gets to Emden in Germany. The Green Ridge left Port Elizabeth on the 15 th so it could be on that ...or not.

Guess it’s a waiting game then for us Barry, I was hoping to get an owners manual in the mean time but VW are that stupid you can’t download without a vin number, never had that problem with Seat or Volvo.barrywi wrote: Mon Jun 18, 2018 4:05 pm It depends on which ship it is on.

You can also use registration number as an alternative to VIN to view manuals on line.Cadwest wrote: Mon Jun 18, 2018 4:10 pmGuess it’s a waiting game then for us Barry, I was hoping to get an owners manual in the mean time but VW are that stupid you can’t download without a vin number, never had that problem with Seat or Volvo.barrywi wrote: Mon Jun 18, 2018 4:05 pm It depends on which ship it is on.

I know you won’t have a reg no. for your forthcoming car yet, but it used to be possible to take the registration number from one of the nearly new used cars for sale on VW’s website (or the reg no. from any new model Polo for that matter) and input it (with no spaces) into the field at the link below. Don’t know if that still works but it’s worth a try;
http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/manuals
It works for my previous generation Polo.

Re: New GTI + delivery
Cheers SRGTD will try and obtain a number from somewhere.
Update: Tried a couple of reg numbers but all I got was “this service is not available at the moment“ so it’s good to know it works as well as the tracker app.
