Are they adhesive? I like the look of those, and now I know what they are. At first I thought it was the interior!

I dont know if Tahrey wants the codes, but I do

Thanks.

Karl.

well i DO need a spare trimmy bit for the passenger side anyway, assuming any new door might not have one - and the drivers side is getting a little tatty on the edge

@gareth gt hatch, i just stuck the pipe on there as i had a bit left and i thought directing the hot air away from the filter would atleast serve some purpose but im going to block it off when i can be bothered.

It doenst do anything though so you can just undo the 3 screws and take it off. You dont need to direct that hole away as it like i say doesnt do anything when you get rid of the standard setup

Don't know whether Tahrey wants the part numbers, but I do. A really nice finishing touch that.

i scrolled through vag-parts.com section and finally found them!

l/h door is 867 853 309C 92X @ £4.44+vat
r/h door 867 853 310C 92X @ £4.44+vat
l/h quater panel 871 853 417A 92X @ £5.95+vat
r/h quater panel 871 853 418A 92X @ £5.95+vat

the reason i got the codes was because i need to put a new door on due to rust. i wasn't sure if they would be obsolete or not and they aren't which is a bonus! if they were obsolete i was gonna do them in carbon fibre film stuff!

i'd check with martyn that those priced are still the same!

those are standard kit on my car, cool aint they! goes with the groovy seats!

well my quarter panels are fine (nice big caveman style bit of plastic trim there :D) but for a tenner all in for both doors including tax.... sounds good. even if the car's to be ditched, the next owners (which there WILL be.. eventually) will have nice POLO grafix to enjoy :D

Thanks doug&dan! Thought that pic was of the interior the first time I saw it, but I'm glad I know what they are now. Have you any experiences removing the original items? I'm thinking they are adhesive? If they are is it a case of setting the hair drier on them?

Thanks v much

as far as i know, they are adhesive! due to being at one with the weather, they go a bit hard and a small amount has flaked off! so i think the hair dryer and alot of patients are in order! only thing is, by the way it looks, they tuck under the windows so not sure if u need to pop the windows out!

as far my interior, its all black with door pockets and centre console, but the seats have multi colour "volkswagen" written all over them! very groovy!

I reckon they can be pushed under the window seals with something. I wouldn't mind replacing mine, as there are one or two chips that have gone through the black trim onto the metal. Hopefully a fresh bit of trim should smarten that up.

Thanks.

they come right off with very little coaxing, if you pull right at the edges. it's just like very thick and plasticky gaffer tape really. loses a lot of it's stickiness on rexposure to air though............... (i tried to transfer from the trimmed up broken door to the trimless "new" one)

Loving my new induction kit 8) . I like the loud suction type noise I'm getting with throttle response up to about 3k rpm. Ideally want an alloy pipe metz style for ultimate noise  . Even manages to make my blowing zorst sound good  .

Finally a big thanks to metz and madmatt (the two technicians) for setting it all up. Am very pleased with it :D .
