Hi cb6601 welcome.
I am afraid that the same solution will not be possible for your 6R due to the shape of the footrest for the Golf GTI RHD.
I don't know another possible solution for the 6R RHD. Sorry.

Dimmable LED Ambient Lights. 'Project' (5d + 3)
(full screen)
They will not be directly locatable once the panels/parts are installed. White and indirect light.

So your 58d dimmed instrument lights are now converted to 58 (full brightness) with the exception of Un and the newly inflated LEDs?
Would it have been an idea to install an extra dimmer above the led in the armrest ie from beetle 1c to have an independent control dimmer for the ambient lights?

No, installing a second dimmer would be horrible, it's a bad idea. With one is enough and perfect, and even more so if it is the original next to the light switch (with a Direct access). Absolutely perfect (IMHO). My opinion is irrelevant.
The instrument cluster increases and decreases its illumination automatically with its own sensor.
By other side I do not remember using the original dimmer nothing more than to avoid saturation when taking pictures with the camera of the instrument cluster.
Many of the VW cars that are currently sold don't have the Dimmer with a direct access (you have to go to the menus of the infoteinment system... loosing your time and driving concentration).
There is nothing inflated, once the TESTs are done you can verify that the light is very dim but perfect, that is, AMBIENT LIGHTS, ...not footwell lights.
The secret is that they must be dim lights.

All clear! I use the dimmer a lot personally, and mostly it's at the lowest setting

I have always use the Dimmer at the maximum level, I don't see it useful in another configuration (for me).
Precisely what I do in the electrical installation is to have an independent control of the ambient lights with the original Dimmer, 'sacrificing' the original function of the Dimmer (explained in the diagram).

And in 99% of cases ... the rest are weird people.
Tell me some reasonable reason to use the Dimmer at the lowest level.
If the Dimmer was useful and essential, all car manufacturers would include it in all its vehicles.

Re: ciclo's Polo. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.
I don't like red, so I reduce the red as much as possible. I have considered converting the LEDs to white, but that is a massive job.
I've seen it done at drive2.ru but I'm fairly confident that my soldering skills are not sufficient..

lovely. [emoji7]
but interestingly, with dimmer set to max now, i dont see any adjusting effects on the instrument cluster because its really too bright for me. or this self adjusting instrument cluster will be there with their own sensor when there’s no dimmer switch?

Thanks benzinkopf.
Only 5 dimmable small leds , they will be on as long as the 'side' lights are active.
I'll unveil all the secrets and I will inform when this installation is finished, ...as I said in the iichel thread the VCDS is necessary.
This is an example of what ambient lighting is:
I don't intend to do it in the same way, I intend to do it my way (five illumination points).
Maybe it will be one of my best mods with original parts, or maybe it's a catastrophic mod and I have to buy new parts where I made the holes.

It certainly looks good, Fernando. Your LEDs are also white, right?
I'm curious to see how it will work out and what the difference is between the bright and dim versions. I hope the brightness will be pleasing to you. It certainly is a great idea.

Just an idea, will that dimmable ambient lighting be able to be used by old manual the headlight level settings? then we have a perfect two scrolls of dimmers.
