Thanks to all on here, who have posted useful information and experiences. This forum is excellent, shame VW was not.
I don't blame you. It would have probably broken down soon as you got it anyway if mine's anything to go by!

Thanks.
Good to see they are stockpiling some of the cars instead of just completely stopping production.
Glad they had some sort of plan.
Going to be a serious amount of deliveries when all models are WLTP certified.

Spoke to my dealer today who confirmed earlier post that GTI builds won't start first week of November (at least that's what he's been told). Am not in desperate need to replace my current car but very disappointing to think I won't likely have the car by Christmas, when it was ordered in January. They've really dropped the ball with these WLTP tests.

And yet when speaking to my dealer and vw chat they did not know about the November build start date. There is no continuity, the left doesn't know what the right's doing.
All I know is at this rate they'll be as rare as hen's teeth on the road.

I think I will give mine a gold wrap , not seen another one on the road yet. I actually took my dealer friend on a short run a few days ago. His order has no build date and mine was the first he had ridden in. He is so frustrated at having so few cars available to sell.
100 miles to 1000 km unleash of power( if it exists!!) and am loving the car so far , but do have sympathy for the potential owners who have been given the run around by VW nationally. All the dealers must be so annoyed.

Not being funny, but why would the dealers be getting annoyed, they are still taking orders and not telling the customers the whole truth about delivery, they might be getting some stick from waiting customers, but they are still getting the money for them, sorry I don't have any feelings for the dealers.
There are some other manufacturing dealers who have stopped taking orders as they cannot give a supply date.

You should talk to my dealer friend, he is being perfectly honest about delivery times to his potential customers and is perhaps not the average car dealer.
Customers he has known for years have been cancelling orders with frustration about delivery times and VW ( who do not own the business) just shrug their shoulders over the phone, if that is technically possible!
I can hear them say in my mind..." Am I bovvered, computer say no"

If VW are not producing, that means the VW dealerships have no product to sell and are making no money as a result. Why wouldn't that annoy them? The only money they'll have coming in is from their used stock (nothing coming in to replenish if people aren't exchanging their part-ex for a new one) and customer deposits, but they'll still have all their operational overheads to pay.

For that reason I do feel sorry for the deslerships, this is VW GmbH's fault for not getting their WLTP ready cars done in ample time for testing and certification to be done before the deadline which gas now passed. Of course other marques are going through the same situation right now. The 68 plate cars are going to be few and far between before Christmas.

This is just disaster. I made my order more than month ago, and everyone is quiet. Even dealership have nothing to tell me, no build date, no news, nothing. I ordered GTI with manual transmision for more than 650 thousand Kč (two time price of basic trend line polo) and Iam thinking about canceling my order and going back to Audi A4/A6 even if it mean i will buy used car. Worst part is that I dont have any car to drive right now and waiting another 30 weeks is overkill. I was expecting 3-4 months not 3/4 of year. My first ever brand new car ... I was excited, happy but not anymore. Since we dont pay road tax and my isurance does not matter (24y/o is very risky even in 1.0 fabiia so they will charge me same price for polo gti as they did for A4 3.0Tdi V6 audi). I can have older V6/V8 petrol audi for same price and same insurance or if i save few thousasnd I can go to that dealer for used golf R with 30 000 km on clock. ... They written 20 weeks in contract, so after 20 weeks Iam probably getting my deposit back and leaving. what a f*** mess

czech configurator is curently down. They are making maintenance (guess deleting non wltp cars). but if i go around (open my polo from book marks) I can see that there is only two or three cars.

//This is all i can see. there is warning in top saying that they are sorry for not showing all cars etc.

others have said that they have been told "no gti builds until November" -- this may explain why the GTi has disappeared from the German/Czech configurator (French config is 'unavailable' also)
