Hi all,
I've just ordered these headlight units:
https://www.dejavucars.nl/webshop/light ... ition.html
Now, I was wondering if any of you also have the 'U-tube' headlight units and if you're using Xenon or LED bulbs, how you're experience is, which type/model you're using and what you'd recommend.
My personal requirements are:
- Maximum visibility on the road/maximum light output
- No or very minimal adjustments/drilling/etc. to the headlight units
- Looking good (lower priority)
One advantage of LED is that it's better for main-beam blinking because of it not needing 'start-up' time. Can you tell about other advantages/disadvantages of LED / Xenon?
I'm very curious to your experiences, thanks in advance!

Nearly all LED retrofit lamps I've seen are terrible.
They either have a crap light output or last about a month.
I'd only recommend proper H7 lamps that the headlight was designed for.

for the price you'll pay for these headlighs + LED bulbs you could have gotten yourself a nice set of OEM xenon or even maybe LED headlights, used. that's probably the best light you'll get... ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

They'll be terrible.
You'll need to perform a "Clear Lens Mod", as the lenses in these units have a maximum output of under 4000 to keep them e-marked etc. Hence why you need new lenses and then you'll be able to get the most out of LED or Xenon. Lenses are either made for LED or Xenon not both, but LED kits are cheaper than good xenon ones. Get a set of Nighteye LED's off ebay for £20 they're very good.

The best LED option are Philips ultinon. They are around £130!- set though so not a cheap choice
