God damm I'm glad I'm old when topics like this come up.....

£204 fully comp max NCB (but an additional named driver on the policy with L plates when she does get behind the wheel - so I don't think that helps much)

I will be shopping arround at renewal time cos I think the premium increase from a MKII 1.3 coupe S to a MKIV 1.4 was a bit bloomin steep but I didn't want the hassle of changing policies.....

Insurance has always been steep 17 years ago at 19 my first car a mkII XR2 was £970 (that was fully comp). the GTi is now £285 comp with Tesco.

The GTi is now being traded (3dr, silver, 54K, full VWSH) to Western VW Edinburgh for a Civic Type R (£385 comp) this Saturday if anybody fancies one.
