Chrome Mirrors

Post by r_penny23 »

Hiya

Just seen some chrome mirrors on a Golf MkIV (I think, dont really know, theyre not as good as the mighty Polo  ) and thought they looked the b*******s.

I dont want to get my mirrors chromed as this probably would cost a bomb if people actually can do this and a search on the net only through up 'Inpro' with ones only available for the Golf :(

Any ideas....I know its probably been done a thousand times but I really liked the look and everyone needs to start somewhere.

thanks

Ross

That would be great, I was looking at some DTM's but I was really after some OE looking ones.

FK Automotive do some chrome finished DTM-style mirrors that go by the name of "RACE-look" - you'd then need some adaptor plates for fitting I would presume.

Alternatively, the previous generation Audi S3 had chrome mirrors, one of our receptionists has one parked outside my window - they might be a little large on a Polo though - you might be able to get some from an Audi dealer if you've just been paid... could be expensive!

If you're feeling like you've got money to burn you could investigate getting your mirrors stripped down and repainted in chrome a la Audi/Golf mirrors. Although I have no idea who would be able to do such a thing or how much it might cost, any reputable bodyshop should be able to do it I reckon!

Just a thought!

They do look smooth, I didnt think they would look like that :)

Where did you get them, are they FK? and were they a bugger to fit or did you get a body shop to do the honours for a small fortune?
