In preparation for the winter months I recently changed the bulbs in my dipped headlights and tail lights - in doing so I also noticed that one of the bulbs (left) on my licence plate had also gone.
Upon closer inspection it was evident that the bulb was not necessarily the problem and in fact the light fitting had developed a rather nasty rust problem. Please see attached images. I have temporarily removed the old bulb and had already purchased new ones before identifying the rust issue.
I love my Polo and as a fairly new driver (6 months) I'm keen to get hands-on and fix something like this myself. I have previously ordered bits and bots from eBay to fix things like the rear window wiper - is this something I can do in this case?
It would be great if someone could advise the best course of action or best parts to buy/replace.
