I am about to install my friends new stereo system in his new polo soon and was wondering if anybody knows of a good place to pass a power cable through from the engine bay to the passenger footwell.
I`ve had a good look but cannot see any obvious places to do this. Will I have to drill a new hole? He has a 1.9TDI Sport and the engine bay is packed full of bits which make it difficult to check it out properly.
I tried searching to find this information but cannot see it anywhere. Apologies if this has already been covered.
Cheers.

Right then!
Looking at the engine bay from the front of the car, on the right hand side just behind the ABS thingy with all the pipes coming out of it, there is a rubber gromit. This is where my power cable runs.
The gromit leads to the passenger's footwell, so lift up the carpet.
Poke the power cable through, connected to some wire (ie. wire coat hanger), and make an indentation in the soundproofing, now using a stanley, from the inside, cut a small hole in the soundproofing for the cable to come through. That's about it.
Hope this helps, it's been a year since I did it!
