Mudflaps

Post by mike+ »

Hello
Does anybody out there know if mudflaps for the Polo GTI 2018 AW1 are available.
I know the standard Polo ones don’ fit.
Many thanks

Performance model variants of mudflaps are usually very late in being available (If at all) for the Golf, would imagine same is true for the Polo. Usually standard fronts fit but backs don't because of rear lower valances and side skirts/mouldings.

I don’t think they are. They weren’t available for the previous generation Polo GTI, so don’t be surprised if it’s the same for the current GTI.

Pretty certain the standard fronts won’t fit without a bit of fettling with a craft knife; it’d be necessary to make a cut-out in the mud flap to accommodate the end of the black plastic sill extension.

On some of my Golf Gtis, rear ones weren't available and front ones weren't recommended.
But you could fit standard front ones on the understanding the tyres would rub on them on full lock.
When I sold one Gti, the new owner called me ranting that it needed a new gearbox at £1500 because 'reverse gear was knackered'
I correctly described when the noise happened, she went back to the dealer and crated merry hell with them for trying to rip her off.
