Re: New GTI + delivery
I think they have to switch production lines for RHD so they don't make then all the time but only once in while. Factory is running, gti have wltp and there should not be any shortage of parts anymore
So most of orders should be done soon
also new gti engines should have code DKZC and ETKA show them with OPF

Re: New GTI + delivery
Any idea if the post WLTP cars have different performance specs compared to first batch GTIs?
Did VW downgrade on the performance side or anything?

What do you think should I do with the winter package? I have not paid the car yet. Only 2k euros of advance payment.
I hope you all get your cars sooner than expected!
bye...….."
Welcome to the forum !
The winter pack will be a very good extra to have in your country, but you should ask for a reduction if it is included for free if ordered now. Dealer can only say no.... (or yes!)

Agree with albob, you should definitely ask for a reduction of the €500 for the winter pack if it’s included as part of the car’s standard specification at no additional cost.albob wrote: Fri Dec 14, 2018 10:28 amjakiidd wrote: Wed Dec 12, 2018 10:23 pm

If the dealer isn’t prepared to do this, then I’d suggest you get the dealer to agree to contirbute €500 towards the cost of servicing and maintenance of your car.

Re: New GTI + delivery
It's not always as simple as all that. If the RRP of the basic car model has not gone up between ordering and collecting, then morally they should refund you what you have paid for an option which is now standard equipment. If the RRP has gone up in the meantime, you can ask but you probably won't get. If you got a discount off the RRP you might not get the money back either.
You should definitely ask, but you might not get anything back.

Re: New GTI + delivery
Hey Guys,
New comer here ... ordered my Polo GTI + in Reef Blue, Black Roof and Deep Iron Dash on 7th December so very much a new order..
Ordered through Drive the Deal.com for an amazing deal and told I could have a 38 week wait. The dealer did however say he was going to put a "Stock" order in with exactly the same spec as mine so I would get it sooner.
He said his system was saying there was an estimated build date of April... not sure if I believe him but hopefully that's true..!?
I currently drive a Blue 2015 Polo TSI which my PCP runs out on 5th August so I thought by placing my order now then I would get my new Polo GTI + around the same time I hand it back.
My question is, does everyone believe the wait times are starting to decrease as we go into 2019?
My theory is the initial demand will begin to drop off and people will see their cars sooner?
What's peoples thoughts?

Re: New GTI + delivery
I am lucky in that I ordered mine at what is now known as the optimum time, February 10 th ,and got it at the end of July. If you can take time to work through past posts you will see that delivery dates are unpredictable, with some people who ordered in January, including my dealer, still not getting their cars delivered until a few months into 2019.
My dealer was very understanding and let me keep the agreed deal price and paying for an MOT on our trade in UP as well as saying do not bother to service it. We bought for cash direct from a VW dealer but things get complicated if people have contracts which could run out. Just make sure you know in writing what will happen if VW fail to deliver and do not believe any information given to you from VW nationally!
Just call me Mr Cynical and good luck.

Re: New GTI + delivery
I’m not sure if this has been covered yet, but does anyone know if Brexit will cause further problems?
Re: New GTI + delivery
Given that the Polo is made in S. Africa it shouldn't. I think there is a 10 percent tax on cars coming into the EU, so, in theory, cars may be cheaper!?EmmaBx wrote: Thu Dec 20, 2018 9:22 am I’m not sure if this has been covered yet, but does anyone know if Brexit will cause further problems?![]()

Although they come to the UK via Germany, no?

Re: New GTI + delivery
Well more bad news this morning from VW High Wycombe. I was told back in Oct that they had been given build date of week 47 this year and that to expect delivery early Jan next year. Only been waiting since ordering GTi+ end March this year.
build week been pushed back AGAIN!!!!! Now told its week 10 next year? So assuming that happens? I will not take delivery until April-May. Therefor taken the wait for this new car to over a year. I am beginning to have second thoughts now and cancel the bloody thing. Any one have any concrete news as to when or even if this GTI+ will ever be built ???

Re: New GTI + delivery
Ask a Unicorn about that and when Brexit will happen. The reply will be “ errrrrrrrrrr.....”
Thanks VW.
